Meditation Courses

Solace and Sangha in this time of Uncertainty

6 week on-line “Open the Heart and Still the Mind” course

“Open the Heart and Still the Mind” courses are an integration of the wisdom of Buddhist psychology and meditation, a powerful practice for deepening our awareness of the present moment and developing a more compassionate relationship to ourselves and others.

This 6 week on-line course, created during COVID-19, consists of 6 Saturday afternoon retreats via Zoom. The intention is that we will find solace and support through practising together over this time, creating a sangha (community) of like-minded people, wherever we are.

During these 6 half-day retreats and within a context of containing silence, we will use meditation, Buddhist wisdom and compassion practices to explore different ways to find inner calm and to cultivate trust and compassion during this time of uncertainty. Each session will include a teaching, guided meditations and a movement meditation (qigong or a walking meditation) to strengthen our embodied presence and to enhance our experience of the integration of body, heart and mind. There will also be an opportunity for reflection, to deepen our understanding of psychological and meditative approaches to inner healing and transformation.

This course is open to newcomers as well as experienced practitioners. You are welcome to attend the 1st session on Sat 25 April before committing to the rest of the course. Details for 25 April are here and you are welcome to offer a donation below the sliding scale if necessary.

The dates outlined may be subject to change, due to unforeseen circumstances and any sessions cancelled by Sue will be rescheduled.

Please download the Zoom app and the link will be emailed to you before the day.
